I am so so so fed up of trying to log on to the BBC messageboards - it takes soooooooooooooooooo long for the page to load and to post replies!  >:(


Why cant someone from Auntie produce a messageboard like this? ???

Far easier to use and so quick to post...

i gave up with them a while ago cos they are so slow. did my head in and i'm on broadband (don't know if you are) but they were painfully slow on that.

Yes, I am on broadband and subscribe to several messageboards, but the BBC ones are the only ones I have any trouble with!

Typical, cos they're the only ones we pay for (through our licence fee) as well! >:(

I could produce a much better rant than that over them! They banned me (and loads of others) for just replying to a post!

Yes, we may have slightly bent the rules in the past, but that was 6 months before we were banned! We were being ever so good then.

They are SO strict on what can and can't be written, and at the moment seem to be "modding" posts off left right and centre for no good reason...

They are only open during business hours, more or less. And the regional/local boards I've looked at hardly have any messages in them, unless you count all the posts from people abroad trying to do their family trees - posts which are almost always left without reply.

One Board, for South Yorkshire, seems dominated by people who want to argue the toss about the relative merits of Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United football clubs.

Often, one or two individuals seem to dominate boards to the eventual exclusion of others.

All that said, I have been quite entertained by the Five Live board in the past.

However, I never read it these days. I'm spending far too much time on this wonderful MSE site, without going anywhere else!

Sounds a bit smarmy, I know, but, for better (I've picked up some bargains) or for worse (I wouldn't have spent so much on "bargains"!), it's true!
