I bought two free range chickens yesterday with a shelf edge price of £4.99.
Whilst I was looking for the heaviest I noticed that there were individual prices on the chickens.
I asked a 'worker' who said that they would scan at the shelf edge price. I asked him to check as the bar codes were different.
When he came back he said that I was right and they would have scanned at £5.54 and £5.51.
I was refunded the difference but I wonder how many chickens were sold at the incorrect price.
I hope that this helps.

Sure the ticket didn't say £4.99 per kg and the chickens were just over?0

I usually buy these and the SEL says £4.99 per KG but they are individually priced0

Positive.
The shelf edge label stated £4.99 each for chickens between 1.3 and 1.8 kg hence the reason for me looking for the heaviest!
I can't remember what the price per kg was on the labels on the chickens but it wasn't that high.
The worker stated that the manager was contacting the regional manager as there was a discrepancy.0 -
The shelf edge label stated £3.33 per kg. The individual chickens were priced at £3.29 per kg....just looked.0
