hi all,
i have a friend who is looking for an additional credit card for purchases.
she seems to have a 'patchy' credit history: no ccjs or bankrupcy but previous missed payments with her halifax card, who won't increase her limit. she is on the electoral roll, is full time employed around 20k and rents privately. whilst she is a friend i can't delve deeper than that.
does anyone have any view on which company is worth trying? ideally something with a low initial purchase rate and a reasonable limit, but if not a lowish apr, but isn't too 'fussy' given the above.
my initial thought is one of the barclaycards but before i help her apply i wondered if anyone had any advice or recent experience of risk appetite across the various credit card companies

The devil is in the detail as they say. It may well be that any card will be out of reach with missed payments depending on how significant they are. Get her to try the eligibility checkers, such as the one on this site, to get an indication of likelihood of acceptance.0
