UK Sort Codes

Anyone know where there's a comprehensive list of UK sort codes on the 'Net?

Thanks.

    Try findsortcodes.co.uk

About half way down there is the option to put in the first two characters and it returns a list of al the valid codes starting with those two character.

Thanks. I had a look, but it seems like you might have to pay to get the data in list form. I'll check out SAP at work, see if it has the full list.

I know OP has already answered, but nosying at that site and my Santander account sortcode (090128) is missing from the list, so i wouldn't rely on it entirely.

The only way you'll get a full, up to date list of sortcodes is by subscription to the Vocalink EISCD.

    https://www.vocalink.com/customer-support/eiscd/

Back in the dim and distant pre-internet banking days we used to get a book of sortcodes issued every few months, but they were quite hard to get your hands on even to look at, let alone to keep, so I imagine they must have been quite expensive even then.

Thanks. I thought that was probably the case.
  • I still use a copy of that book at work. It's called the UK Clearings Directory.

I find it very strange. I thought the sort code you had depended on your account holding branch. It was always the case with both my Natwest and HSBC accounts. When I moved to Santander, my sort code was 090128. I have discovered that people up and down the country have the same one.
    EMERGENCY FUND £1644.03 / £3000 (55% SAVED)
    CAR FUND £1200 / £1200 (100% SAVED)

Have you missed the advent of the Internet and online-only accounts?

Nationwide sort codes aren't linked to branches either.
