Instant Messenger system

Hi all,

I'm looking for an instant messenger system that can be used on a PC desktop ( Windows 7) and Windows 10 tablets. Preferably one that doesn't require facebook or google accounts. Free or paid.

Any suggestions?

There's Office Communicator. We use it work but I find it just annoying.
    There will be others though.

Slack is canny. have used it on and off a few times for work. There's always Skype as well.

We use Skype for Business where I work. Not much different to what we had before, but it does give you video conferencing options.

    Thanks all.
I'm going to experiment with officechat.com and see what works.

I guess not if you are incapable of telling people you have it. If anyone wanted to chat to you they could easily install it. That's how these things work....:wall:
