    Sadly Dr Duke... although I've been paying rent on my current house for 6 years. The mortgage on my pre-marital home was only settled 2 years ago. I hear from other sources that I need 3 years clear of any arrears before even thinking about being accepted for a future mortgage. Should've just sold the house when I divorced it seems.

    That's a pity. Yes sadly it is going to be a problem. A broker might be your best option.
