Bath warranty dilema

Hello, I'd like your views on this please!
In May 2012 we had a bathroom fitted by a local bathroom company.
This week, the bath that was fitted started to leak, and I spotted a couple of cracks near to the plughole.
Unfortunately, the company which sourced and fitted the bath have since ceased trading, so I contacted the supplier of the bathroom suite (Frontline Bathrooms Ltd.), who's brochure we had selected the suite from, and who's website states that all of their products have a "Lifetime Guarantee".
They have come back to me today, and said the the manufacturer of that product at the time they supplied it has since stopped trading, and hence the warrant has gone with them (although they do still sell the same bath today, presumably made by a different manufacturer).
Is this right? Who is the guarantee/warranty actually with?
Any advice would be welcomed.
Thanks!
Nigel.

Guarantees/warranties are in addition to your statutory rights, and as such you need to read the terms of them to decide who is offering the guarantee.Hello, I'd like your views on this please!

It is unlikely, but not impossible, that the guarantee covers misuse.
Could the cracking be due to misuse or poor installation?
If the company offering the warranty no longer exists, then your warranty is useless.
Just because a company has 'ceased trading' does not mean it is no longer responsible. If it still exists then it is still responsible.0
