£10 fee

Hi all,

i Sent a letter from Martyns templates asking for information and a couple of the Credit Card companies / Banks have asked for a £10 fee to check for PPI. Can they do this?

A Subject Access Request (SAR) costs £10. It does not simply "check for PPI" but provides all information they have kept on file for you.

The problem is that this could prove very expensive if it turns out that no PPI was taken out. On credit cards, it would have shown on every statement; on loans it would be on the agreement.

It's a claims company myth that PPI can be somehow "hidden"

Why didn't you just ring up the Banks concerned and simply ask them directly if you had PPI?

If you read Martin's articles then you would know it costs £10 for a data subject access request. The problem is that the article is not great. You don't need to do a DSAR. You just ask the bank.
