Requesting recommendations for replacement Oven

The oven in the place we rent has just stopped working, and unfortunately it would seem it wasn't the landlords, it was a cooker left by the previous tenants, so rather than pay £150 to try and get it fixed, we figured we'd just buy one, price range around £300.

I've been looking at some in argos and I keep running into horrifying 1 star reviews, so whats good with ovens these days?

Only requirements is electric only, 60cm wide. So would anyone know a good reliable oven for that?

It's an oven, or is it a cooker? You've called it both, but most people think of 'cookers' as free standing with hot-plates/rings on top.

Knowing which is important because if all of a cooker stops working, then the fault lies in the incoming circuit or fuse, whereas if an oven fails to heat-up, it's usually the element(s)

We also don't know if your rental is long term or standard AST. In the latter case it might not be wise to put in a new cooker that your landlord isn't entitled to, unless you are willing to disconnect and take with you.

So, many questions in the air, but if it were me, and it's an oven wanted, I'd get a newish s/h Neff from eBay/Gumtree if I could.

As previous poster mentions, if it is an oven that you're looking to replace, then avoid the cheaper end of the market & go for something like Bosch. Bosch, Neff & Siemen's are all part of the same group & their items come with a 2yr warranty.

Bosch tends to be cheaper than Neff & Neff cheaper than Siemens's, but very often they will do the same product range, but with maybe one or two refinements to the Neff & Siemen's versions.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.
