Reward account question

Hi everyone
So I currently bank with Natwest who I have a current graduate account, credit card and joint Isa. I am considering switching to Halifax to cash in on the £125 offer and £5 a month. I know you need two direct debits from this account but can do two that do not gain rewards from Natwest e.g gym

Would I then be able to reopen a rewards current account and pay my household bills etc from this Natwest account to cash in on the 3% cash back? (I can't see anything about the Natwest account having to have my wage going into it to benefit from the rewards account)

Thanks!!!

    Hi

You need to use the bank account Switching service to benefit from the £125, if you do this your Natwest account would be closed down. You could however open an account and transfer 2 of your dd's from Natwest yourself and get the £5 reward, you also need to pay in £750 a month to do this

Open a second Natwest account and switch that one., not your existing account.

You can deal with the DDs before or after the switch, whatever suits you best.

Thanks guys - just applied for second Natwest account, will see if that can get sorted ASAP. I've seen the Halifax offer closes the 22nd so will just transfer my current account if not which will be a bit of a pain but better than nothing!

Well no - an oxymoron uses terms that seem self contradictory but aren't in fact - cf " cruel kindness".

    But "joint isa"......

    Individual Savings Account.

I am now wondering whether the OP means that he has a stocks and shares ISA and a cash ISA with Natwest.
