Tesco credit card

Nasty experience recently with Tesco Credit Card. Card taken out February 2015 supposedly for 16 months. No balance transfer fee so balance transferred to account 18th February 2015. Minimum payments being made by direct debit each month usually on 28th February.
Noted on my computer on the Tesco Credit card account "introductory period ends 13/05/2016 (16 months from opening)" this was placed on the computer at commencement of account.
The March statement arrived yesterday and showed a minimum payment required for £116.71. and an interest charge of £70.71. Thinking that this was strange as payments had been £48.00 then £47.00 for some months I checked. The February payment called for and paid on 28th had been credited on the 29th. i.e a day late. Assuming that this was the problem I rang customer services. I was told that the reason was that the introductory period had expired and the payment should have been the balance to avoid interest. I pointed out that the card still had about 4 months to go of the 16 months. I was then told that this card was for 12 months and that a note had been placed on the December statement showing this. It had but it was so small that I had missed it. I have scoured the Terms and Conditions document and all the other paperwork I have had from Tesco and can find no reference to the duration of 0% period. Any comments?

Raise an official complaint but if you have no screen shot, paperwork or anything about the 16 month then it's going to be your word against Tesco and the onus will be on you to prove it, I'd stay calm in your correspondence and hope they refund interest charges etc and let you clear the balance now without incurring any more fees.

I got a tesco credit card last year around June/July, I payed my 1st bill on the due date and got a £12 charge for late payment, which after a phone call they refunded.
Since then I haven't had a credit card statement, every month around the 25th I phone up and say I haven't received my statement then make a payment over the phone. When the 0% ends, I will be cancelling it and steering clear from then on.0 -
Surely though if you just set up a minimum payment as a Direct Debit to the card account you would never miss a payment? That's what I do as a back up.0
