Don't forget to take your bus pass with you when you visit the Balkans, this chap did and it must have come in useful:-

Myself and two friends boarded a bus in Sri Lanka about 12 years ago. One of my friends jokingly showed his out of date one day London Travelcard and the driver smiled and refused to take any money from any of us. When we got to our destination we tried again but he was having none of it so we thanked him and got off. It must have saved us at least thruppence each.0
