Thanks again everyone, really helpful.
So I double checked this morning and we do have a Tenancy Deposit Protection Certificate at our names.
Next steps for us I think is to 1. Tell the landlord we won't be paying anything more as we feel the £230 we spent on end of tenancy professional cleaning should be enough.
2. Start a dispute with TDS if the landlord/letting agent refuse to pay the deposit back. It says in the contract that the deposit is held by the letting agent.0
