the i5-750 recommended is one of the slower ones, benchmarks around 3700, the amd A8-7600 comes in @ 5100, so don't rely on the "headline" cpu/gpu name to make a decision ;)

That's like comparing oranges with apples...the i5-750 was first introduced in 2009 and the AMD A8-7600 in 2014...so of course the AMD would be better :rotfl:

comes in a little over budget but

    http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/AMD-A55-A88X-198p2500.htm

upgrade to the corsair 2400mhz ram
change to the cheap 120gb SSD
add a 1tb secondary hard drive
    drop to the aerocool case
drop to the corsair 450w PSU

£407 and will be quick enough for everything you want, plus the added bonus of the SSD which will make all the normal processes so much faster than any processor or graphics card upgrade can make
    Drop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
    10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
    20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)

no, newer doesn't mean faster, it depends on the cpu itself. You're saying you wouldn't have one of the older Xeons or Opterons, just because they're old, even though they'd totally be faster than any i5???

Again, comparing oranges with apples, anyway we are going OT now.

At least post the link with full details...if the OP is even playing sims 4 lol

    https://help.ea.com/uk/article/the-sims-4-system-requirements/

What you say is the minimum spec but you do not show the "recommended spec", of course using the minimum spec and in laptop mode will reduce the quality of game play and if you haven't run SIMS on the latest PC's then how do you know that you would not like the improvements and think you've been putting up with poor quality? It's like going from a normal telly before HD was available to an HD TV of today...the quality is far superior.

Sure the OP is capable of using google or reading the back of the case or the store they bought it from.

Im guessing you had to reply because i caught you lying. You said you would need an i5 processor, that simply is not the case. I suppose they need a VR headset to get the fuller gaming experience as well too? OP make sure you keep some money aside for one of them. Youll 'need' one.

From what the op asked all of those pcs are perfectly fine (had a look at the specs now). Why complicate it or go against what they explicitly said with something along the lines of dont want to pay for things that arent required. An i5 processor is not required.

As for the sims 4 comment, i guess they could be playing 3,2 or 1. But they will be lower system requirements. Thats why they number things to show improvement or evolution. Like iphones. Do the expansion packs require significantly more processing power? I always assumed they would be similar, appologies if they are not. But again no issue playing every expansion pack on my carppy old laptop.

LOL, are you able to read the link I posted? Does that mean EA are lying as well as their "recommended spec" quoted an i5 CPU. I recommend you go to spec savers. :rotfl:

What an idiot you must be :rotfl:you must know a VR headset is not compatible with SIMS haha.

Please keep commenting as you are keeping me amused with your replies :T

Not at all, EA recommend you use an i5 proccessor, hows that lying? You said you need an i5 proccessor, thats a lie.

I can live with the insinuation that im an idiot who understands the meaning of the word need.

Your more than welcome to continue trying to ridicule me, personally i would target my larger than average ears over my reading skills or knowledge of compatible games for a VR headset.

Thank you for all the replies. I didn't realise the sims game would be such a talking point. We don't have sims 4 it's an older version which I think will be fine with any of the desktops.

I will probably go for the zoostorm as it has 8gb/1tb hard drive and windows 10. I already have a monitor but unfortunately can't go for the cash back as my old pc has died (power supply or motherboard I assume) but it is about 7 years old and was running very slow so really needs replacing rather than fixing.

    Thanks again.

Caught him lying? Fella - calm down. The other poster was perhaps misinformed, or perhaps not being verbose enough in their response, trying to help the OP by the way. But lying?

    Strewth..
