Some kind person demolished my wing mirror on my Ford Focus Mark Two (2010). The whole attachment requires replacing. I have purchased a new one off the internet but it did not come with any fitting instructions. Has someone got any instructions how to remove the old one and replace it with the new wing mirror assembly. Any advise or guidance will be greatly appreciated.

Inside of the door is a plastic cover - triangular shape. Pop this off carefully. This will reveal the screws and wiring . Undo the screws, pull away from door and then unclip the connector. Reverse to put back. 10 min job, isn't hard. Just be careful not to break the cover clips so pry with screwdriver if nothing else.
  • I was told by a mechanic that door trim had to be removed because of electricals. Not sure if that is correct but he charged me £40. I did take off plastic cover initially but it was not clear with the wiring's exactly what i needed to do

I purchased the replacement wing mirror kit including the indicator bulb off the internet for my Mark 2 Ford Focus Cost £33. Before ordering ensure the part is compatible with your model, I managed to fathom out how to fit and it is very "Fiddly". You need to remove the interior trim just inside the car without breaking the clips to get at the bolts to remove the mirror. Make sure you have the correct Torx screwdriver. The difficult part for me was the electrical connection and I enlisted the help of my neighbour. (You do not have to remove the door panel" All in all it took me about an hour and a half to complete the exercise. It was a lot cheaper than going to Ford's.
