    Hi everyone,

I feel a fraud posting because so little is happening here. I didn't go out at all yesterday and spent most of the day sewing. I finally got around to finding out how to post photos on instagram so I'm pleased abut that. For some reason my facebook page on my phone doesn't link up to my main page so I can't post photos that way.

I've got the phone for our local good neighbours group this week. People ring asking for help with various things and I have to ring round to find someone who can do the job. I got cross because a woman rang yesterday asking for someone to take her mother to the dr and after I said that I would find someone she said, it saves me getting her into the car and driving her. The group is manned by volunteers to help people who have no alternative, not for the convenience of people who could help their relatives but can't be bothered!

Sorry, rant over. I feel guilty because I can't complete the week, DH has booked a hotel in Norfolk for my birthday on Thursday, not realising that I have the phone. There are only 4 of us on the phone rota so I feel bad about not doing my full week.

    Have a good day.
  • Morning, ((((((((((hugs))))))))))if you need one.

I had violent stomach cramps after we came to bed, had another mad dash to the loo. I took more medication and have had a further dose this morning. Very little milk on my porridge. Will see how the day goes. Not planning on doing much. It's very heavy cloud this morning. OH has said he is taking it easy today too.

All yesterday's laundry dry, ironed a couple of bit, and it's all away, brilliant, it's ages since I managed to get 2 loads dry outside.

    Morning again

Just a couple of things I've thought might help someone else. I visited my bank last week, and I'd been getting a message via the online banking regarding "rewards points" which I had already signed up for. I managed to speak to a human in the bank - and she advised that the "rewards points" account that I had signed up for is no longer available, so I though I was getting rewards and I haven't been, also the current account we've got has a monthly cost - and has supposed "extras" thrown in - human I saw actually bothered to go through what these "extras" were and did I need/want them - there was a whole list and the only thing I might use was mobile phone insurance, there seemed very little point in keeping that account so I could swap to a different account and get the new "rewards" for £5 per month instead of £15, ok not a massive saving but the money's better in my account than there's. I also have an ISA and the interest rates are useless, my fixed rate that was the best I could get at the time is now finished and the rate it's dropped to is nearly non-existent, so this morning have moved that to another company - again not a great interest rate but much better than where I was and it's instant access. I did look at the fixed rate's but the interest rate is not that much better, so there's no point. Just thought it's worthwhile sharing - you really need to keep an eye on all these as you could be losing out. I have also changed home insurance provider, and will check the car insurance's as they are due for renewal. The only thing's I don't look at are energy suppliers and landline phone - I've changed before and had so much hassle and problems with no service, crap service or then it turning out to be a lot more expensive than originally quoted.

    Hope this helps someone else.

    Morning all,

I've got DGS today he's happily playing Duplo, but he was coughing in the night and seems to have a streaming nose now,so no doubt the generous little soul will pass it on to me soon ;).Got him again tomorrow, his other grandparents are away for a week today.

I'll probably have scrambled eggs & smoked salmon I got from aldee for lunch,it needs using up.Had a bit last night with some mackerel too.Need to check what to have for tea as well, but there are a few options in the fridge.

Going out to post a birthday card shortly-will pop DGS in the buggy and hopefully he'll have a nap.I was hoping to go to the park later but its quite dull today after yesterday was lovely.

Dumpling hope your friend hasnt too many worries this week.
Gers, thanks for your comments yesterday, glad the house is back to normal even if our road is still shut.
I saw some high school boys slithering and sliding down where the landslip happened, then climbing back up again. Its quite steep and not exactly stable.I was ironing in our bedroom and have a good view.I was relieved when a couple stopped and had a word with them and they moved on.There are barriers in place but they were obviously inventive and came at it from the other direction.
Judi, poor Mum,mind you my hair would soon be itchy if it wasnt washed. Is it just too hard to manage to do it now she's so frail?Hugs to you both.

Hope its a good day for everyone xx

Another glorious day today, not used to it here and not getting used to it either, who knows what tomorrow will bring.

I've got my white rugs back on the living room floor, they dried really well in the slight breeze and sun so I'm pleased with that.

I took myself off out and almost (very nearly) took a ferry to Arran :o and then decided I wouldn't be able to make the most of it cos of the carpenter coming and my evening meeting. The drive down was lovely though. Perhaps if the weather holds tomorrow I'll make the journey and time it right for the ferry - there's a shop I want to go to on the island.

Carpenter came early - Argyll time in action. He's going to make me shoe rack - come - hat / glove box to fit in my tiny hall under the coat rack he made me earlier. It's all these little things which need doing now that the major work is finished.

Bumped into the roofer at a coffee shop and reminded him of my damp problem in the guest room and kitchen, he assured me I'm on his list.

Only my evening meeting about PVGs to go and then I can put my feet up.

I hope everyone else has had a good sunny and bright day.
  • Good Afternoon everyone, we've had another lovely day here today but we clouded over and cooled down mid afternoon. The washing dried well on the line outside, the walk this afternoon was nice too and I found flowering currant bushes in flower and some bluebells out in a sunny spot. Yesterday I found the first couple of violets out under a hedge in the village, it really IS spring!

Such a lovely present was given this afternoon, Cookies mum and dad have bought us tickets to the last rugby match of the season at the club near to DD1 as a present for walking Cookie every day, we can stay with DD too, what a treat, we're so very lucky!!!

Hope you've all had a nice day, it sounds like many of you have had the sunshine, lovely isn't it? Lyn xxx.
  • Afternoon everyone. Feeling horrible today with this cold lurgy and have a cold sore so big it has swollen and covers up half of my top lip making it very difficult to drink anything. Have a wonderful DD who popped round with some cream for it, my ears are also so bunged up they crack every time i swallow.
Today I am going through the Flylady thread, have made a good start and my kitchen is looking nice and clean and tidy. Also listening to the KonMari audible book as I go. I need to take an inventory through my kitchen cupboards and make a meal plan, was going to do it for a week but i think a month is needed. My house is feeling quite cold but i'm being too stingy to put the heating on so using a blanket to keep warm.

No sunshine here today, send some my way.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Afternoon everyone

Not managing to get on everyday, but reading. Today is the 1st Anniversary of the death of dsf. Spoke to my DM she is doing ok, a little sad.

Ds2 has his interview tomorrow at the army careers office, he seems ok but I'm getting nervous for him. Need to make sure everything is ready tonight.

Os today kitchen cleaned, breakfast pots washed. Need to do some ironing. Will also end up cleaning kitchen again once dh has finished dinner where he always makes a mess, but food is delicious, I suppose it's a small price to pay.

Redruby - hope you get some answers.
Tru - hope you enjoyed your afternoon.

Got some news yesterday that I had passed my exam for my course, just need to sort placement out now.

Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.

  • Sorry I have been tardy in posting, but time taken up with usual medical visits, plus trying to help my friend through the loss of her partner in January, she has gone into deep depression and is now having panic attacks but is refusing anti depressants, really upsetting to see a bright bubbly person go downhill so fast :(

Had to get DH an emergency appointment at the dentist today, he has an infection in the gum, has been put on antibiotics and has to go back in three weeks because our dentist is going on holiday.
When I phoned up and was told he would have to wait three weeks, I had the receptionist in pleats when I told her if he wasn't seen today, he wouldn't be alive in three weeks, man with toothache = nightmare! animated-smileys-sick-008.gif

JackieO I hope you are not in too much pain with yours x
