Hi there!
I have found a pretty decent flight for my 9yr old son and me to Catania, and I'm thinking of doing airbnb for accomodation. Total cost for flight and stay is less than £270 Has anyone here been?
Is it easy to get around? anything for children to do?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure about Easter, it's obviously very religious so there may be lots of festival and pageants but the flip side is that many things might be shut.
Public transport is pretty good, though English won't be widely spoken so some pigeon Italian might be necessary.
There's obviously mount etna and the railway that runs around its base is a good if long trip. Huge amounts of history from Roman times through to present.
Have a look on tripadvisor and ask some questions on there, depends on what your interest are really, it's obviously not a basic med resort type holiday.0 -
I've been to Sicily twice, but in September and October. Absolutely love the place. We flew into Catania twice, and stayed the first time in Taormina, and the second time in Giardini Naxos which is a much cheaper place to stay, but ideal for seeing all the main sights of that area. Unmissable places to visit are, Taomina, Castelmola, Mount Etna and Syracuse. Tripadvisor is the place for the best information and you can ask questions on the forums. There is a very helpful Sicily expert on Trip Advisor, for whom no question is too trivial to answer.0

Thanks for replying! I would like to go to Taormina and maybe visit Etna, I'm really just going to get a break from London and to practice my Italian as I am learning0
