Hi I was wondering if someone could give me some advice.
I have spoken to debt change and they have advised that a DRO would be my best option.
Could some tell me my chances of it being approved .
I have stopped all payments to creditors and setup new bank account.
My income and expenditure is:-
Pay is £575
£140 - Board payment
£70 - phone and Internet
£150 - food and toiletries
£40 - work meals
£40 - public transport
£30 - prescriptions
£20 - clothing and footwear
£30 - emergencies and birthdays
£40 - tabacco
Total - £560 - £15 leftover

Tobacco is not considered essential expenditure I'm afraid. Time to give up smoking...0

Hi, I am planning to quit it was just the expenditure I had given to stepchange they never mentioned anything with it.
My board payment is due to go up this month but unsure of the amount yet.0 -
An intermediary can guide people as to their expenditure, maybe make suggestions where savings could be considered. Smoking is one of the categories that can be covered in general housekeeping, or other expenditure.
What we can't do is tell someone how to spend their own money, and the rest of the budget looks underwhelming, so I would have no hesitation in considering that FS as being perfectly within acceptable guidelines on the CFS.0 -

I fully agree with Doris Trousers on this, i cant see any issues with the expenditure you have listed.
I would ask about the £30 prescriptions? could you benefit from a pre-payment certificate? but with your existing surplus and any other monies you have i would be having a chat with you about increasing what you are spending on food etc for yourself, and you have nothing set aside for social activities, odd cinema trip or trip to the pub, etc0 -
Hi, thank you both for the answers
.
I have a mental health condition which limits the amount of social actives and things I can do at the minute .
Regarding the pre-paymeny certificate I have looked to getting one but it varies from month to month so I just gave an overall figure0
