Problem with java Installation

Hello,

I have downloaded java and am trying to install it / run it. When I try to do this, the windows installer box comes up, but then it jams and does nothing.

I have tried the usual, uninstall it/ re install, re boot etc, but cant seem to get it to work

Anyone any ideas ?

Assuming you're talking about Sun's Java then have you checked out their help pages. Top right-hand side gives help on installation, configuration and error messages.

Was this the Sun Java? I had no problems with that one.

http://java.com/en/ should do it.

Tried the stuff in the help menu, and now I cant even uninstall it as access is denied, but its not in use !! Any further suggestions ?

If you definitely can't get the Sun Java to work then install the Microsoft Java VM instead
