Please help me someone big thankyou if you can. I need to know the correct fire size legal law requirements act and how many per block under to floors six flats in total block.
Could you tell me what is the correct large size of a fire exit signs
and how many signs allow on a single block of flat/s their for two floors for six flats?.
Big thanks any help please. Reason why I ask trying to get rid of the signs on my block (each block) they are huge like this one below. (may try for a smaller sign) Size 35 cm x 11.5cm depth. On each floor their are two for each floor!!!!! my god to me expecting a fire risk to the building it self?.:o

Before you ask me have you tried to contact your further people which life by you. To me I shouldn't really have to (not yet they just gone up!) and to the landlord company need further advise.

Catherine Hickman complained about lack of fire escape signs before fatal blaze

Frankly if I were in a block with someone else wanting to remove fire exit signs I'd seriously consider suggesting they seek urgent medical help. As noted above, they are there for a bloody good reason & need to be easily visible in dim light, smoke, including to any visitors unfamiliar with the layout.
Hope .. better soon.
Or is this a wind up?? If so it is not in good taste...0 -
Because they are very large signs "Size 35cm width x 11.5cm depth". two signs for each floor, six in total. Yes I know their for a reason but not every day I'm going to see a fire just for a two floor building of a flat.
Thankyou for Hickman info but their have more floors than us. We have two little floors!!!!.0 -
Does anyone know the legal diameter for lamp posts? I have to walk past some every day that I'm sure are slightly too wide. They are an EYESORES!!!!0

There is no single "correct" size or number. There is a legal minimum size and number, but if the freeholder wants to have more or larger signs, they are within their rights to do so. They could wallpaper the entirety of every hallway with signs, if they so wished.0 -
It's not you(**) that matters (you know the way out.. obviously...) but some little old lady who happens to be visiting, not sure of the layout, doesn't move fast, eyesight not perfect.
Come on, be a decent citizen & support those less privileged that yourself! It'll make you feel so much better!!!
** Obviously you do matter, just as much as anyone else, but hopefully you are sufficiently familiar with the English language to get my drift..0
