one call home insurance

just received renewal quote from ONE CALL INSURANCE for house insurance.
joined them last year and paid £308 premium.
'automatic renewal' for next year very nearly £450
no claim made this year
on ringing them given 'best' quote of £434.
do they live in the real world?
my pension increase was 2.9%
they were going to take well over 40% extra premium.
do they specialise in sucking in new customers by cheap rates and then hoping they will continue to pay much higher premiums in future on 'automatic renewals'?

They're an insurer, of course they do, as does every other company out there. If you haven't noticed this before now you are their ideal customer, one with MUG printed on your forehead.

By the way, part of the increase will be due to the higher IPT that was introduced last year, and the rumour is the Gideon may well bump it up again on Wednesday.
