Defaults

Hi all, I Have a default listed against my name on experian but does not show the same on equifax it says the account is also still open which it is not it went to a debt collection called PRA Group.

but it appears they only updated my credit report in 2014 although the debt was from 2011.

my question here is I want to challenge the default as they appear to trying to update my credit report each month and showing as an active credit account for some odd reason. (I will question this with experian) equifax shows the account as settled, but no default)

Can any one give me some template letters and a way of challenging the default.

There is no real doubt that a genuine account defaulted and passed to a debt collector should show as a default, so the only real point of dispute there could be the original default date used.

The entry where it is showing as undefaulted and settled is clearly wrong, but do you want to challenge that?
