Paying an old default

Hi all

Im wanting to improve my credit score and improve my chances of getting better credit. I have some small defaults around 4-6 years old. I'm concidering contacting these companies and offering payment to have these accounts settled.
I realise the default will stay for 6 six years but wondered if my score will improve if the debt is seen as settled. Also would anyone recommend offering company's a reduced amount to settle the debt for example offering £50 the settle a debt of £150. I was wondering what company will accept.

Regards.

Lenders will rather see settled defaults, than unsettled, however, obviously neither look great.

Your score could go up or down but fortunately no one sees it apart from you. Lenders will only look at the data on your account and how you have managed your credit.
