Home Insurance Question

We renewed our home insurance in August but on Friday we accepted an offer on our house and the sale is now going through. We are buying a new build property but it won't be ready until December so we will be renting for a few months. Am i able to just cancel the policy and start again in December?

You will need to carry on insuring yours until exchange of contracts (when the buyer should arrange cover) but many people carry on cover till the completion / move date.
Given the speed at which house buying / selling works, you may find that nobody is in a position to move till November anyway at which point your new house will nearly be ready and you should simply do a change of address.0
