  • Good Morning everyone, another bright sunny day here but decidedly cooler in the wind. He Who Knows has just headed off to the allotment and we are treating ourselves to lunch out today at a newly opened noodle bar not too far away, should be lovely. Really enjoyed Crufts last night, particularly the flyball and agility which was sadly very short on screen time but what we did get was fun. Love the little Westie that won it, a 'real' dog that looks full of zest and the Whippet that got second was lovely too. Cookie walk this afternoon and still lighting the woodstove as it gets dusky and cools off which is late into the season despite it being warmer in the daylight hours. Thank goodness for free and 'wombled' wood.

Have yourselves a nice day everyone, Lyn xxx.

'He Who Works' has bought the girls new coats and extenderleads to take on holiday with us over Easter.

We dont usually put coats on them but despite the vets reassurances that sand wont get into Lucy dogs wound i wanted something to cover it and of course, dogs are like kids... you cant buy one without the other...:D

    Good morning everyone,

It seems ages since I posted, but have been keeping up most days. So I was very glad to see that RR now has little Evie, what a beauty!
Also belated birthday greetings to TA-glad you had a great time & glad the hangover's gone :D.
Hugs to those with family problems and hope they get better soon.

For the last 10 days DH was between jobs and has been painting throughout the ground floor and doing other odd jobs, hence me not getting on here much - but we feel like we are back to normal now after the Boxing day flood. We also got lucky and spotted a lovely Chesterfield sofa on eebay close to home,so we rang up and arranged to look at it.The man selling it was a trader & told us it had hardly been sat on,not being in the main living area and the people were moving abroad. The colour was just what we wanted so we paid up and he helped load it.It looks good and not a mark on it.DH and DS took the old one to the tip,it didnt have fire reg stickers on it so charity shops wont touch them. When they tipped it up a bit more water dripped out.eugh so just as well it was being dumped.

We also had an hour with my cousin yesterday when we returned their dehumidifier. It was quite a big old one and didnt look too pretty ;),ours is much neater and actually seemed to get more water out.It was nice to see her,as we havent seen each other since she dropped it off after Boxing day.

I've found it interesting reading about the B.Sugar diet Gers and dumpling and have put the book on my kindle-I do have a weakness for the wrong carbs -not doing the stricter version though.
It was beautiful yesterday, and today but a bit of a cool wind.Lots of dogs in the park.
I've made some chicken soup for lunch, and have a lot of ironing and bedroom tidying to do after.
    Have good days all xx

Welcome back RosyRed, it's good to read about your recovery from the flooding, seems so long ago now. The old couch sounds really bad, how lucky to find a better one so close by.

Well, it's a really glorious day here, still, sunny and warm. I did two loads of washing, put them on the line and they are dry. One was the flannelette bedding and the other was T-shirts and teatowels. Tommorrow I'll do the two big white rugs as the day is forecast to be sunny again. I've changed the bed linen back to ordinary cotton, high hopes of better weather.

I went out for my walk, took rubbish to the tip and did some shopping. Was away for about three hours, came back to find that I had left the front door wide open and the door from the hall to the living room - numpty! Postie had left my mail on the hall floor.

Now I need to do a bit of swotting up on the PVG system in Scotland. I'm really familiar with the English DBS system so I have to forget all I ever knew and start again.

    Happy afternoon.

No Tuesday thread as yet and I can't start one on my tablet as ignoramus about copying and somehow feel that as a bit of a newbie it might seem wrong!

I am starting work very early and will be working away for a few days, probably no Internet access, so wish everyone a happy few days.

Have saved the council and therefore council tax payers £££££ by reminding those who sort out my travel and accommodation that I have an ancient person railcard.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back
