Velux Sky Tunnel?

Options
Anyone had this done? It would go from roof to ceiling above stairs. This is in South London, so pricey part of the world.

I have had 2 quotes. The first was £1,150. The second was £900. The first was a Velux certified installer. The second has experience, but is not velux certified. I am getting another quote. They both said it is a days work for them plus 1 other. They are both talking about using a scaffold tower.

So from Google. It looks like a sun tunnel costs £250. A scaffold tower hire looks like it is £100 ish. So the direct costs are £350 ish.

The £1,150 seems pretty expensive. The £900 even seems a bit high. But am I missing something on the cost side? Anyone else had one installed?

Thanks

  • Well. For anyone else who is looking. I ended up getting 2 of them installed for £900 total. Which when the tunnels cost £500-600 and it took the chap 1 day to do, seems like a fair price.

Also, they are great, work really well and make a.huge difference. Would def recommend them.
