New Bathroom problem - water come through ceiling.

Just had new bathroom fitted.

When they finished and left - that night I had a bath.

Water was pouring out of ceiling downstairs - through my light fittings on the ceiling and cracks appeared all over ceiling.

Plumber came back next day - he's forgot to tighten the over flow.

He's offered to fill in the cracks in the ceiling - will this be good enough - its a plastered ceiling - will it need to come down - do electrics need checking - I honestly have no idea.

  • Who can say without looking.

Water pouring through the ceiling as the waste wasn't connected, was this when you pulled the plug? If it's a whole bath load I'd be having everything checked.

    Hi

It was the overflow that wasn't connected properly.

So not a bath full - but a lot more than just a few splashes - at a guess I'd say approx 6 sinks full - but that's just a guess - carpet (downstairs) under light fittings were absolutely sodden through and it had spread out over the carpet creating approximately a 3 foot circle of water on the floor - if that makes sense - took 4 days to dry it out.

Yes, I understood this the first time but that much water must have been when you emptied the bath.

Give them chance to come back and fix things. Take it from there, you maybe happy when they've done.
