How things have changed since last weekend.

After panicking at the thought of funding 500+ for bath and 200 excess for floor.
I borrowed 1k from Avant.
Got a voicemail from esure home emergency who will arrange plumber and cost of bath is covered-not the seals panels or shower seals.-500 saved.

A lesson learned.

1. Arrange building insurance asap. (in addition to factors insurance)

2. upto 500 included with existing home emergency policy-which was added with contents policy.

I've had 3 different pieces of info since Monday-being told home contents doesn't cover bath-correct

Being advised that home emergency covers sending someone to check what the cause of the leak is-only part correct-why did it take until Fri to mention the cost of the bath is included.

Looking forward to getting the required work started, thankfully.:T

Booked into local travel lodge since Thurs.

Esure emergency attend my home Thurs and removed existing bath and found flooring is not safe to install new bath. Non working bathroom

I require factor to replace all flooring and tiles.

A joiner, tiller,plumber then esure to return to install new bath and shower.

Cost wise esure home emergency will cover cost of new bath.

Factor building insurance cost of floor including flooring. (tile effect
I'm paying cost of travel lodge initially -esure will return 250 covers util Tues morning.

Once the required work is complete,how soon can I take out new home contents and building insurance.

Since the bathroom emergency occurred, a rep from factors building insurance recently commented that if I had arranged my own building insurance then that can cause problems if I make a claim, which would explain why my mtg advisor advised against me taking building insurance when I moved 6 yrs ago.

Factors building insurance and emergency contacts are well organised.

All credit to Esure and CTW factors.

The timing of Easter weekend didn't help though that's uncontrollable via tradesmen.

My bathroom floor is since replaced today -and new vinyl bathroom tiles fitted, cannot be happier with the standard of work.

Esure home emergency plumber called and dropped in for 10 mins removed my toilet.

Esure will return tomorrow to install new bath and new shower.

I've honestly learned a lot since 1 week last Sunday.

1 don't panic
2 I have contents+home emergency insurance.
3 I have building insurance via factor.-includes emergency contacts for plumber/joiner/tiler/door entry/water etc.

I'll finish comments tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Thanks for everyones advice since I started posting this thread.

Not forgetting 1 mistake from myself initially I borrowed 1k (at panic i've no building insurance 'stage'):o

Final post today.

200 excess pay to factor building insurance.

Luckily a cheque for 250 arrived today from-esure how emergency (pay/re claim hotel costs)

Enjoyed being home since Thurs,and returned to work thurs and fri.
