Gas disconnection- is this legal?

Bloody hell, lets keep this in proportion, the gas fitter is going to turn up, turn off the supply at the meter and disconnect the appliance.
What makes anyone think that the OP is incapable of doing this. What makes anyone think that someone is going to accidently turn the supply back on.0 -
it is a fixed copper pipe connection, probably installed in 1982. I suspect the installer will be replacing it with a more modern fitting, later that day.
If it was flexible self sealing you are allowed to disconnect, after turning off at valve then testing for any leaks.
Fixed you are not, but people do it.
They light hob turn off gas at valve, wait for hob to go out.
Disconnect and put cap on end, testing for any leaks.
Would suggest speaking to gas save fitter re choicesThe world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
You should cap the pipe incase there is a let by on the ECV which you will not know about unless you test it.
Its your house though so its ultimately up to you. Personally I would call your rgi and take his advice.0
