TV advert. :Ms Admiral jazz-hands her way into Admiral HQ singing Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin’, and slides across the freshly polished floor without falling over. Everything’s shipshape as she brings a hot drink for the receptionist and chucks her own coffee cup into the bin like it’s the discarded genitals of her jaunty predecessor.
I have had a multi car policy with this bunch for about 9 years, used to the annual incremental premium increase. However when this years renewal came in they had really gone to town . On looking into the premiums one of the cars seemed OK but on the BMW had doubled the premium, this with no claims or points to spoil my driving record.
On phoning the Admiralty I was advise that the reason , probably, was that they had seen a lot of accidents from drivers of older marques of this model. Fantastic, so because other drivers had had accidents they want to load my premium. Stand by for a full broadside of grape shot.

You do realise that insurance is priced by collective stats?
You are in a collective pot of driver types that suffers a greater number of accidents. So, that increased load is shared across all of you. Some of you wont suffer an accident but some will.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I've never put up with the annual renewal increase. Last 3 years running the renewal quote has been £1000 more than the price for a new customer. They've always honoured the lower price.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

Aye - as an Admiral customer, you have to get used to the annual game of receive silly renewal quote, get the "new customer" quote, ask them to match and they do. Frustrating but does keep them good value.0

Another year, another round of the game :-) Renewals time, and once again they were £200 more expensive than competitive quotes. Called up to cancel, and they dropped it by £220...0

Had the same, ended up moving the BMW elsewhere as even a require as new customer was not reasonable. The multi car has now become a single car policy.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
