40 years with the RAC, always had great service from them and I have called them out a fair few times.

Downside, having to moan about the renewal cost each year to get it reduced.

Are Greenflag no good? i remember my parents took out Greenflag as it was recommended by the Caravan Club. this was some years back mind, and not sure if it was just the best from their tests if you breakdown whilst towing...

Never heard of AutoAid before? Is this new?

Do they use local garages on call out to wherever you are?

I always preferred AA or RAC as they were actively patrolling the motorways, as have bad experiences of local garages based on call outs with using local garages to the area.

But anyway I am looking into AutoAid as a alternative?

AutoAid have been around for quite some time, and I've been with them for years. They don't have their own fleet of trucks, they just get a local recovery firm to come to you ( or you can nominate your preferred firm if you happen to know one ). It's a "pay & reclaim" service ( at least, it always was, recently they seem to have started settling with the recovery firm direct ), but this isn't an issue as long as you have a credit card.

But the thing I like best about them is they'll take you to a destination of your choice. So you're not stuck hundreds of miles from home with your car in the hands of some local cowboy outfit, you can ask to be towed home to your local trusted mechanic or wherever.

And they're only £42 a year, covers you and your spouse ( if applicable ) driving any car.
