We have a party of Five, three adults and a 7 and 5 year old. We are hoping to go to Vancouver/Vancouver Island in August.
Can anyone recommend places to stay, visit, do. Would like it to be based around nature, whale watching etc.
Never been here before and any help/tips would be great.
TIA

Vancouver Island is stunning.
We went whale watching and bear watching from Tofino (on the west coast) we saw humpback and grey whales, wolves, black bears, bald eagles, stella sealions. We stayed here http://oceanvillageresort.com/location/ . We also went whale watching from Campbell River on the east coast, and saw orca and humpback whales. We stayed here https://www.coasthotels.com/hotels/bc/campbell_river/coast-discovery-inn-and-marina/, on the recommendation of someone on this forum.
Stanley Park was our favourite thing in Vancouver, we also drove to Whistler for a day. We stayed here http://www.sunsetinn.comEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
Wouldn't it be better asking on a dedicated travel site ?

If you are looking at flights it can sometimes be cheaper to fly to Seattle and drive North. Btw Air Canada has some narrow seat configurations in some of its aircraft, worth knowing of you're wide shouldered.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I liked Qualicum Beach on the east side of Vancouver Island. I didn't like Nainamo (industrial port town).
If you've got time, I'd recommend exploring the mainland northeast of Vancouver, lots of very scenic country there, perhaps even as far as the Canadian Rockies."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0
