New kitchen cost

We are on a tight budget for the full renovation of our home and an extension so trying to make savings where possible without scrimping on the quality of the work being done. We have already negotiated our extension and got a good price for it with the cost of fitting a front door thrown in too if we buy the door ourselves, now we would like to try and get our kitchen done and have measured everything and tried a few 'well known' high street shops which eye watering results so we planned everything out with DIY kitchens and it comes out at £4,200 including worktop which is excellent.
My dad is a plumber and electrician so will replace the power points for us and plumb in the white goods and new sink. We will be buying ridgid units from DIY kitchens if we choose them and will need them fitted, worktop fitted and tiling done. My dad is of the opinion that if we are buying ridgid units then we can fit them ourselves and just pay someone to tile and fit the worktop.
How much are we looking at for someone to fit the kitchen, tile and fit worktop?
Any thoughts anyone? This is a bit of a minefield.

I would think that was to fit it only. I wanted a dig kitchen but ended up buying mine at wren and getting them to fit it. I paid £5000 not including alliances.
I am reaally happy with my kitchen, I know diy are better quality but mine looks nice and I don't intend it to last a lifetime maybe 10 or 12 years. Last kitchen I kept 15years and had been sick of it for a long time0 -

We installed our kitchen ourselves and cost £1666 including worktops from IKEA. Good Quality too

We had a small 12 unit kitchen with 2 bits of worktop installed for £700.
The day rate for a kitchen fitter is anywhere from £150+. I do recommend you get a proper kitchen fitter/joiner to fit it. Many sparkies will tell you that they can fit a kitchen but they lack attention to detail.
You will get what you pay for. I wish I had spent a little extra now but I was lucky enough to spot errors as it was being installed and actually managed to fix them myself as I had researched all the potential problems before then happened. Search google for "which kitchen fitter cost" for some good pricing examples.0 -
I paid £3800 for the units and worktops from DIY Kitchens,It was a bit more than I initially wanted to pay ,But after having a nightmare trying to find a fitter I realised i had underestimated the costs.
I love my new kitchen

Why don't you ask the builder who did your extension to come back and do it? It's something they could fit in while they are on something else.
You might also then benefit from their trade discounts, eg Magnet Trade kitchens are far cheaper than their retail ones. I found Howdens competitive - they normally have a massive end of line sale in Sept/Oct, and bought from my local builders merchant for similar price. Big kitchen, lots of units cost about £2500. They have a kitchen designer who comes out to measure up and plan, then I ordered it using my builder's discount, and the builder fitted it as part of our extension. He also did my neighbour's kitchen while he was finishing my extension
