Does anyone else refer to the 'rotary line' as a 'whirly-gig'?

Yes! I think it may be a Scottish saying.

Yes and my whirly- gig does go round, sometimes extremely fast, but as we are up a hill there is usually a lot of wind, great for drying clothes.

Some fella went on dragons den with a motor attachment for a rotary dryer. Didn't get very far.

Is that because it kept going around in circles?

Still , the washing should be dry by now at least
Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

There's no Scottish connections in the family, my late Father who used the name, his Father came from Derbyshire.

Yes - and we used to live near a roundabout / place called the whirlygigs. Double Scottish whammy.
