Xbox 360 connections

Hi. I am a complete dumbo with technology, so please bear with me. I have freesat using a humax foxsat hdr. I have just bought a used xbox 360 for my grandson but have no idea how to set it up. There is an hdmi cable which I would presume needs to be connected to the freesat box, but that only has one connection, which is in use for the tv. Or does the xbox connect directly to the tv, in which case do I have to disconnect the freesat?
Hope someone can help in words of one syllable!

Use the HDMI cable to run the xbox straight to your tv. If you've got more than 1 HDMI socket on your tv plug it in to one of the empty ones and on your tv remote select hdmi2 or 3. (which ever its plugged in to)
If you've only got 1 socket on the tv then its a case of either
a) unplugging freesat, plug in xbox and vice versa each time.
b)buy a hdmi socket multi point extension (think a power cable extension lead. 1 Plug in to wall = 4 plug sockets) 1 HDMI in to the tv = 3 or 4 HDMI sockets you can plug things in to.
c) connect the xbox to the tv via a composite cable or scart cable. These means the picture will be not as clear as a HDMI cable and you'll need to check if you have those on your tv (or a free one at least)0 -
Whats the model of your TV if you know it or are you ok with having a look at the back of the TV.0

Thanks both. I have a spare hdmi socket on the tv, but nothing on the remote which mentions hdmi. The remote is a Humax rm-f010

Its normally labelled as 'source' or may even just have a picture of a box with a small arrow going into it (from the right i think)
Did try to google for a pic but couldn't get a clear enough one to see, but if that's the remote for the freesat box it may not be on there anyway and you might need the remote for the TV itself, failing that your TV should have a source button on it, usually near the volume up/down channel up/down buttons0 -
Thanks again. I've tried the source button on the remote but it doesnt do anything, and just tried the one on the tv, and got it on av5. Thank you so much. I just need to get a power cable for the docking station to charge the controllers now, and fingers x I shall be able to give the little one a lovely surprise!0

You seem to be using the Humax remote to control the TV. Find the TV's remote. It won't have an HDMI button, but an 'input' button, which will cycle through all the inputs to your TV - the two HDMIs, SCART, Component, the TV's own tuner, etc.0
