Married but renting, do we need wills?

Please could we ask why it was suggested better to use a solicitor than a will writer to write our wills? There are both available locally.0

Solicitors have more detailed training in seeing All the things that can go wrong, and drafting Wills to deal with (pretty much) all the What Ifs.
Will writers use preset templates & lack the sheer broadmindedness of what relatives can do.
Very few solicitors will be surprised by what family can do. They're worth the extra money for the definitely extra peace of mind. Plus updating your previously made Will is cheaper.0 -

And there are some will writing firms whose principal interest is in charging you as much as possible with as many add-ons as possible, including an annual charge for storing the will.
A solicitor should give you a set price for making the will and store it for free.0 -
There are actually no formal qualifications to be a will-writer. Any training they have received is unlikely to cover as much ground as a solicitor who does the bare minimum in wills and estates in order to qualify. If they then specialise in this area, they are likely to have studied further.Signature removed for peace of mind0
