Nutribullet

Hi all,

Several friends have been talking to me about Nutribullets and how great they are for juicing/smoothies/healthier lifestyle.

I have decided I want to try and improve my diet and have been suffering with indigestion a lot recently, so I thought I'd take the plunge and purchase one of said Nutribullets.

Anyone own one? Good recipes to go by? Any tips?

Thanks :)

I brought one to increase my fruit and veggie intake and am very pleased with it, it came with a recipe booklet and there are loads of recipes online. I don't have much time in the morning so use frozen fruit and veg and each evening I take a frozen spinach wedge, a couple of handfuls of frozen blueberries and a frozen banana, put them into the lidded container, in the morning I top up with water and zap it into a smoothie.
Worrying won't stop bad stuff from happening, it just stops you from enjoying the good.
  • I bought a nutri ninja yesterday, which I believe is pretty much the same thing.

I got it as I'm struggling to get my five a day as I really don't like many vegetables - so putting them in smoothies really helps disguise the taste! Been adding kale, a fair bit of it, and don't even notice it's there.

As for recipes I've just been chucking any old fruit in there so far and it's all tasted pretty nice! Been using fruit juice as a thinner though been told semi skimmed milk also works well...

Gonna try adding carrots today and see how that goes down...

the nutri range is diverse so I suggest you read up on the different types based on what you need.

I have a ninja and use it for smoothies. however my mum used the green breville one as all she does is juice, which she said it perfectly fine.

I depends on the hard/soft fruit/veg angle you're going for. I wouldn't advise any of them unless it's a weekly used device as they ARE expensive.

You should not really be eating spinach uncooked due to the oxalic acid which is degraded by cooking.

I eat raw spinach all the time. Most supermarkets offer spinach salads as do most of the salad bars I use. Have never heard it is harmful to eat raw?

In fact Google says so long as it is washed it is better for you uncooked

  • I love raw spinach in a smoothie. I blend mine straight from the freezer.
  • Tried beetroot in a smoothie this evening.

    Triggered my gag reflex.

Buy a blender, they do exactly the same thing and are a sight cheaper.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I have the Nutribullet 600 (well my DD does but I use it lol)
decided it was not handling spinach too well and got the Nutri Ninja
Auto-iQ... Has a 1000w motor and it is much much better IMHO
The cups are more sturdy and of better quality as are the machine and blades and it totally pulverises spinach! Also it has more features such as pulse and ultra blend.
It is also cheaper than the Nutribullet 900 !!
