Double paid for breakdown assurance
I bought a car 3 years ago and got free breakdown assurance through a magor provider for 3 years. I suspended my paid membership of the same company and after a year received my renewal to pay. It didn't occur to me that I still had 2 more free years (my mistake) and that it was already paid for by my car manufacturer/dealer etc. and I started paying. After realising my mistake I have spent the morning on prove I caled to suspend for 3 years (calls not recoreded then) they wont budge. No goodwill gesture (I cant tell you how long I have been with them!!!!!) nothing. It should be obvious how long I susended for because I gave them all the codes etc. when I rang them and they surely must get them from the company that pays them.
I am so angry.
Can anyone suggest anything I could do to make something happen here. I know I was stupid paying and they keep going on about how some people have both covers (useless to me - both free one and paid one are the same) they didnt think to check I was happy with this when they asked for payment.
Any suggestions welcome. If I cant get some money back I will go to town on bad publicity as I am really really angry about this and it takes a lot to make me angry. I have just renewed a few weeks ago which gets to me even more.

When my Dad died the AA refused to return any of his, recently renewed , membership fees, they did offer to transfer his benefits to another family member, within 3 months, which was no use to me at the time, they were very harsh, saying he had signed up for the year in advance. I know you haven't named your company but no doubt they all work to similar practices. Good luck, keep trying, a goodwill "suspension" is probably the best you might end up with if you keep at it.0

I think these large companies forget who their customers are. A small person can make an awful lot of noise and I definately intend to do just that.0
