HP laptop and updates

I have a new laptop, an HP with windows10. Yesterday it had an update to install, something about BIOS. Today it seems to be doing another massive update which is taking forever. Is this normal and ok? Am I better just ignoring updates?

If the original build on your laptop was pre-November 15 this could be a full reinstall of the build from that time.0
