Wood Burning Stove Installation Cost

We have been quoted £2,100 for the supply of a good quality 940 grade double lined flue which will exit the roof of our single story extension, be anchored to the side of the house and exit through the eves of the house (roof overhang)

Obviously we will be buying our stove on top of this bringing the total to £3,100. We have obtained a few quotes so far but wondered if this is a fair quote? We live in Newport Pagnell near Milton Keynes
House renovation savings £25,000/£25,000
Emergency fund £1000

We asked 2 years ago for a quote for wood burning stove installation when we were getting an upgrade for out central heating. We were quoted £3500 for central heating and £2000 for the wood burner installation which was include wood burner. I guess price depends where you are in the country as well.
  • We are up north and just had a quote of £3.1k for install including the burner out the sloped roof of a single story extension.

I got our gas safe engineer to advise when he came to service the boiler (he and his brother are approved wood burning stove installers too), and he said the cost of the stove can vary greatly, so find out brand and output and also efficency, as some are cheaper with a poorer heat effiency, so can be more costly in the long run

I've had a quote here in Surrey for installation to include new flue going through an upstairs room and out through the roof of £3800 supply & fit from a reputable company. Another company came and quoted far less but as soon as they arrived I could see they were not the right kind of people IYGWIM!

You can buy really good wood burners online between 1 and 2k. We used a company called sandpits I think and they were good. We were quoted lots for install when we went through a wood burning shop but we knew one f the fitters who did it 'privately' for half the price. Around 1k. I think the flu costs around £100 a metre so that might help gauge the right place.

Got the insulation of mine double lined up a two storey house with out the cost of the woodburner itself. £1000 HETAS registered.
Try googling HETAS registered installers in your area.
Had three quotes and one lowered their price due to beat the other two.

Also check whatstove.co.uk used that to narrow down my choice of woodburners
