Found Building Society Passbook

Hi,
I've found a Woolwich building society prime gold account passbook that I've had since i was a teenager. There is a single entry, a deposit for the grand sum of £15.84
This dates from 1995,
I've found out that Barclays took over woolwich a couple of years after woolwich demutualised to woolwich plc in 1997.
I assume there would have been a share dividend when they turned plc and a share transfer when Barclays bought them out.
Would I have been entitled to any shares with such a small deposit? And how would I go about finding out what happened with the shares?
Thanks in advance for any pointers.

To qualify for free shares you would have needed a minimum of £100 in an account on the qualifying date for demutualisation.
Being in possession of a passbook is not proof that you have money owing as passbooks can be reported missing and replaced or transactions may have taken place without the passbook. If you are sure this is not the case then you won't have any dividend but you should have a little interest to come.0 -
Thanks for the quick reply! Just wanted to be sure where I stood before the visit to Barclays.0

If you didn't have £100 you will have qualified for a %ge payment based on balance.
Take a seat.
Typically between 4% and 10% of your balance.0 -
So 10% of balance (if account still open) would have been £1.58.
OP dont get too excited.0 -

i didn't know that. i thought, as alanq mentions, that it was just demutualisation shares for those with membership rights.0
