PPI Claim getting nowhere

CO-OP, Santander Egg all have turned me down twice, is it up to me to prove that I had it or for them to prove that I didn't have it. I have account numbers of all my accounts, can't see what else they would need. they are old accounts going back over quite a few years. Is it true that even though you think that you didn't have PPI, some just added it on anyway.

It is up to you to prove it if they have no evidence to show you had it.

No. However, you may not have read your statements (where it appeared) or the agreement (where it appeared) and you may not have realised or you may have forgot.

I do not have a record of anything, except account numbers, I am going to ask them for my agreement, as I am not sure if I took it out

£10 is the cost for that and they may not have it. Indeed, if they did have it, they would see if you had PPI or not.

This seems to be a bit of pot luck, as if they don't have the paperwork and you did pay it, what happens

Think about it.

If I said you owed me £1,000,000 and you couldn't prove you didn't, do you think it would be fair that a court or some other person insisted you paid it to me?
