Your biggest mistake was parking in a car park they manage.
Stay out and stay away from any car park they are involved with = very good money saving advice.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

It's not a retail/hotel car park so I can't complain to a retailer really either.
The PCN states I have 'either not purchased the appropriate parking time or remained at the car park longer than permitted'. It also doesn't say how much I should have paid. Is this specific enough according to POFA?
Thanks so much for all your advice so far! I've read through the newbie post. So much jargon for me to get my head round!
so same place as this one then

Yes that is the one. I only received my letter today too but it's dated 4th March. Best get a move on. Maybe that person's fine was issued for the same day as mine and the machine was faulty.... *wishful thinking*0

I think you are right, not wishful thinking. Sounds like the machine was not producing tickets properly or you picked up a ticket that was already in the machine and did not realise it hadn't printed yours.
You do not need to rush an appeal, you have 28 days not 14. Forget the discount bribe and the 'reminder' they will send trying to hassle you.
Just appeal this month online to PE, as the 'registered keeper' (NOT DRIVER) as per the NEWBIES thread.
You could add that the driver did pay the correct fee but reports the machine was faulty. As the keeper of the car, you require a list of all payments/tickets (with redacted VRNs) recorded on the ANPR data sheet within the two hours from 6pm till 8pm and a copy of the report of all mismatches and errors within that time.
DO NOT say who was driving, do NOT say 'my' ticket and DO NOT show that 18.43 one because it isn't yours, must have been stuck in the machine.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Received a letter today stating they were cancelling the charge! Thanks for all your advice. Will definitely be avoiding that car park in future.0

Yay it worked! They must have seen a similar VRN in the unmatched list or had a faulty machine.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello,
I have also recently received an incorrect PCN from Parking Eye at the same location.
I paid £3 (for a stay over an hour) for the ticket during the night time at the payment machine and have three witnesses to support this.
Later, I received the PCN and upon checking my ticket realised the machine has only accepted 2 of the £1 coins I placed in the machine.
I have the ticket to confirm that I paid to park there, however, as I stayed for an hour and 43 minutes (an hour is £1.50, anything over an hour is £3) I wanted to ask your advice.
Should I send the ticket as evidence or would it be better for me to keep it to myself?
Thanks in advance.0 -

You won't be posting a LETTER to ParkingEye anyway! They'd possibly lose it. No-one here appeals to PE by post, only online.
Start a new thread - not now, when you get your rejection letter in time for a POPLA appeal - and DO NOT SAY who parked/was driving (you have read the NEWBIES FAQS thread before posting, you have read the top threads and know how to appeal?).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
