Incorrect fine should I respond?

Hi,
I received a letter from a private parking company with a fine stating I hadn't paid or stayed too long.
They also sent pictures of my car entering the car park at 18.51 and leaving 20.22 so my total stay was 90 mins.
I did pay and have the ticket stub and I paid enough for 90 mins. The time on my ticket stub is 18.43 though and it also has he wrong Reg on, nothing even similar to mine.
its a private company so I know I'm under no legal obligation to pay but I'd rather not have this hanging over me. Should I respond disputing the ticket then making them aware that I have one or just ignore it?

Your ticket receipt has the wrong reg on or the pcn ?I do Contracts, all day every day.0

What is pcn sorry? It has the wrong car Reg and also a different time of entry to that of the picture.0

PCN parking charge notice.
receipt = the stub.
Which one has the wrong reg on.
This is not going to be easy is it...I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
the PCN is the Parking Charge Notice, which is an invoice, not a "fine"
so the postal notice which is the NTK , this is your pcn in this case
is it the pcn that is incorrect ? or is it the ticket stub that is incorrect ?
who is the parking company ?
please be more specific
please read the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of this forum, it tells you what to do and when and why
do not ignore this pcn, it needs to be appealed , and keep hold of your ticket stub, keep it safe, its your proof of contract , so make copies and take pics of it on your mobile phone too0 -
The receipt has the wrong Reg on. I know I should have checked at the time but it was one of those machines where you have to type your Reg in so I just assumed it would give me the correct ticket.
The PCN (I realised what it was once I sent the comment!) has my correct Reg and details on.
Thanks for the advice!0 -
OK forget your receipt.
You are going to have to appeal on legal grounds as that could be anyone's receipt you picked up of the floor.
Start reading the newbies thread at the top of the parking board.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
I agree, you have no proof of payment and you have somebody else`s proof of payment with their VRN on it not yours, timed before you entered the car park, so they will allege that you are fraudulently using somebody else`s paid for ticket if you try to use it in your defence
the reason they have sent you this PCN is because they have your vehicle entering and exiting the car park using ANPR cameras , but they dont have the ticket machine dispensing a paid for ticket with your VRN on it, hence its a postal pcn for not paying for 90 minutes parking and you have no proof to the contrary
so you will have to appeal on legal grounds, so use the correct template from the NEWBIES thread depending who issued the pcn (you didnt say)0 -
Did someone leaving give you their ticket ?
This is a known scam in some car parks.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -
Ok great thanks. It was parking eye who issued it and a car park on Seel street, Liverpool.
It's not a retail/hotel car park so I can't complain to a retailer really either.
The PCN states I have 'either not purchased the appropriate parking time or remained at the car park longer than permitted'. It also doesn't say how much I should have paid. Is this specific enough according to POFA?
Thanks so much for all your advice so far! I've read through the newbie post. So much jargon for me to get my head round!0 -
No I honestly did pay!0
