you could always go to the store and get the things you want at the price you want
Assuming you have transport, don't have mobility issues, have the time to do so, don't have kids to look after, and a multitude of other reasons...
Are there any other patronising and unhelpful things you'd like to come out with ?0 -
I don't see why they can't just sell you the products, at the price they were at the time the online order was placed. That's when you 'buy' the products, you're just waiting for delivery at a later time, so why not honour the price the goods cost when you shopped for them?0

I guess that legally, the time you 'buy' the products and the time they take your money are the day they are picked from the shelves, not the day you place the order. Unless of course it's the same day (if any supermarkets allow that, I'm not an online supermarket shopper).0 -
I gave up with ASDA online shopping. Far too many mistakes in prices, and it was tedious having to phone up for refunds after each delivery.
I found Tesco to be the most straight forward so far (also tried Ocado and Sainsbury), as they clearly state on each item when offers end, and if your chosen delivert date is after this, it tells you. Their customer service is also excellent.
My only niggle with them is that often LOTS of offers end on a Tuesday, and I have my shopping arrive on a Wednesday when new offers don't seem to be up and running yet. I tend to choose meals depending what is on offer.
When we have a Wednesday delivery I now go back on the Tuesday to have a look. Offers should then show up as "from tomorrow".0 -

Always saddens me when someone responds like you....
20 years ago there was no such thing as online shopping. Those without transport, with mobility issues, with no time, with kids to look after and a multitude of other reasons managed to cope just fine! What has changed?
Perfectly valid point to make! 99% of the time the "reason" is purely made up and, in a life or death situation (ie if you NEED food to keep going), said person will cope just fine! No time? HA (people don't work 7 days a week between like 8am and 8pm, or later with 24h shops). Kids? Don't they still have those trolleys with a seat in them? Mobility issues? Be thankful that they have improved mobility scooters, and have ones available for use in supermarkets. No transport? Yea, because a bus isn't a form of transport!
It is just pure laziness for about 99% of people. Nothing wrong with that, but conversely if you want a job doing properly, do it yourself!0 -
I'm a fan of Asda home delivery, if I double check the night before delivery I'm alerted to price changes/unavailability, so it's my choice to accept or reject. Also, if I get a short date (their website promises so many days freshness) I can get a refund and keep the goods; I don't tend to take advantage of this unless it really messes up my meal plans and results in food waste, there has to be a bit of give and take in this world...there are too many complainers in the world these days.
I work full time, have a Lidl close by for top ups.
Substitutions, I tend to see as a challenge, and we now have some favourite meals cobbled together from subs.
Also, I managed to get 12 months delivery at £2.50 a month. I choose a £6 per week prime slot.............what's not to like?0 -
They should price guarantee at the time of order, valid for 7 days. Who in their right mind would really agree to order something for delivery on the basis that the price you pay when it's delivered might be significantly higher to the price you paid when it was ordered?0
