New Projector. Screen is 40ft from SKY Box. How can I run HDMI this length?

Hi all
I am trying to advise a local charity on the purchase of their new Overhead projector. The Projector is brand new and only has 2 HDMI inputs. However, the sky box is 40ft away from the projector (in another room). Surely the answer is not to try and find a huge HDMI cable or is it? The current projector runs on S - Video and this cable is already in place but as I said, the new projector does not have S - Video inputs. Any advice on how I can do this please?

First hit on ebay for 15m HDMI costs £8.95. You'd need to check your length carefully obviously as 20m cables appear to be quite a bit dearer. At these sort of lengths quality does start to matter but if they quote v1.4 HDMI and it doesn't work you can claim a refund.
Any adapters are likely to be at least as expensive and probably not as good.0 -
You can get one of these to turn your s-video feed into HDMI - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Electronics-Composite-S-video-Audio-Converter-Upscaler/dp/B00WEKWJT4
BUT it is no good for quality. You are far better off buying a long HDMI cable - assuming it is a Sky HD box?0 -
I'm afraid you'll be on a hiding to nothing, trying to help a charidee.
However, the best way of doing what you want is pulling cat5 shielded cables and using a BALUN to pass HDMI over Cat5 like this.0 -
Thanks guys
Username I have spoken... Thank you. I've just purchased the neet kit from Amazon. I'm sure that this will suffice.0 -
Dare I say it, move the Sky box?0
