I used to love the Windows gadget that displayed a graphical image that looked like two speedometers showing in real time my CPU and Memory usage. Unfortunately Microsoft decided not to support their desktop gadgets quite some time ago because they were apparently considered a security risk from hackers.
Has anyone found and is using a similar desktop display which is safe to download and which they can recommend please?

I have it on my Windows 7 Desktop
Still showing in Control Panel -> Desktop Gadgets -> CPU Meter“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -

Well yes, I also have it running on my Dell W7 laptop but something I did a long time ago made it disappear from the desktop of my Dell W7 workstation. If I right click the desktop and click on Gadgets, they are all there except the CPU Meter and I can't find any way to bring it back.
Having said that, lovely though it is/was Microsoft have decreed that their gadgets are a serious security risk and have removed the download page. That is why I'm looking for something that is safe and informative as a substitute.... https://www.rainmeter.net/ should easily be able to do it. It might be a bit over the top though.0
