Conservatory roof blinds options

Hi All,

I was looking for cost effective options for making my conservatory roof non see through from outside as I am planning to put dining table in the conservatory. I don't want my neighbours to see what I eat everyday ;)

That is ofcourse the main reason but I would also like some heat insulation if possible - too hot in summer and too cold in winter. Unfortunately, I have acquired this consevatory with the house and it is shockingly poor design. i.e. without any windows / ventilations on the side. I have a window on the roof but don't trust to leave it open due to lovely English weather.

It is a rectangular conservatory roof with slight slope. A blinds company gave me a qoute of around £1050 for the roof blinds which is out of my budget.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Aakay..

You could just paint the roof window black if you are sure you never want to see through it. That would be cheap.

If its like my conservatory then anything made of material will get mouldy! So definitely no fabric type blinds! I had fabric chairs in conservatory over the winter and they have mouldy patches all over them! We are thinking of getting rid of the conservatory and doing a proper extension.
  • Using privacy films could be a good option. However, I'm unsure whether you could use them with the conservatory roofs.
