Wescot partial settlement.

Good morning, just wanted advise please on a possible settlement figure of a defaulted egg credit card.
The card was defaulted back in 2006, the debt was sold, and currently sits with wescot, acting on behalf of arrow global Guernsey ltd-egg.
I've been making monthly payments of this debt ever since, and I've been sent a letter outlining the possibility to have a reduced settlement. But, it states I'll get a partial settlement note on my credit file.
My credit is now spot on, I've been 100% the past 10 years, and don't want to spoil my credit now.
Thing is, this debt doesn't show on my report, anywhere. So, will the partial settlement make it rear its ugly head again?

Thanks, Tim.

Standard worded warning, where they obviously haven't paid attention to the fact the default and account are long gone from your file.

If the original default has dropped off after 6 years, then any partial settlement they may try to report would not show on your credit reports at all. Nor would the account come back.

If for some reason it should come back, which it should not, you could complain and have it removed.

  • Thank you, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.
  • These scam artists are not regulated for business in the UK or with UK customers.
Would that mean anyone claiming to act on their behalf, including their holding / owning / parent company seeking to do so are in breach of regulation and therefore liable to removal of their license ?
