0% balance transfer cards

My other half owes money to 3 different debtors, we looked into me obtaining a Halifax 23 month 0% balance transfer card to clear the debt and avoid the painful interest. We would be able to pay this off within 13 months HOWEVER we live at different addresses (long story, kids at schools etc). Is there any legal way round this? I'm fully aware I'll take on the debt, it's all arisen through very unfortunate circumstances but she's back on track but being crippled by the interest. Any guidance would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance guys

Generally, most CCs don't care if you transfer someone's debt to your CC, so you don't need any 'legal way round'.
Select a CC you want, then ask here or search if it's the case for this particular card.0 -
Unfortunately, in this case with the Halifax BT card, they require both of us to be living at the same address. I phoned them
Up before I applied asceverything else looked sweet - only for them to drop this bombshell

Then you maybe need to pick another card. The larger lenders, Barclaycard, MBNA seem to be okay with transfers to other people, from what I've seen on here. Most people don't appear to ask either, they just submit the number and the BT goes through. You may well land up paying a fee, but it is still likely to be less than the 'painful interest' you describe.0

Unfortunately MBNA is one of the debtors we have to pay off, I'll have a look at Barclay card, they're desperate to sell me something, I get weekly junk mail from them!!0 -

You could consider MBNA - but instead of using their balance transfer option, get one of their cards that offers money transfers. Once that cash hits your current account use it to pay off other half's card.0 -
Did you try to do the same online?renzotiger wrote: »Unfortunately, in this case with the Halifax BT card, they require both of us to be living at the same address. I phoned them
Sometimes online procedure is more relaxed.0
